What you're trying to book

Chef Fumio Kondo opened his Ginza tempura counter in 1991 after 20 years apprenticing. Two Michelin stars consecutively since 2008; won the 2024 Tokyo Mentor Chef Award. The food is lighter than Tokyo's other famous tempura counters — the seasonal vegetable courses are the signature.

Lunch sittings at 12:00 and 13:30; dinner at 17:00, 18:00, 19:00, 20:00. Each sitting is a roughly two-hour experience on the 9th floor of Sakaguchi Building in Ginza.

How reservations actually work

Phone at +81-3-5568-0923 is Japanese only. The English-language official site (tempura-kondo.com/en/) has its own reservation form — the cleanest path for a first-time overseas guest.

My Concierge Japan is the official English reservation partner, and handles the call for a small service fee. If you prefer a specific sitting time (e.g. the 19:00 dinner), phoning tends to get you more options than the form.

If you want Moshi Moshi to book it for you

Tempura Kondo is a clean Moshi Moshi case when the English form doesn't show your date, or when you want a specific sitting time. We call in polite Japanese, confirm the time, and send the confirmation in English.

For last-minute same-week bookings, the form is usually closed; the phone sometimes still has availability.

We’ll place the call for you.

Common questions about booking Tempura Kondo
Does Tempura Kondo accept reservations in English?
Not directly — Tempura Kondo takes reservations by phone in Japanese. A limited English allocation is available via Official site (English); once those slots fill, the only path is a Japanese-language phone call. A hotel concierge or an AI-assisted booking service like Moshi Moshi can place the call on your behalf in keigo.
How do I book Tempura Kondo from outside Japan?
Official site (English) is the primary channel that accepts international cards and confirms in English. If those allocations are sold out, the only remaining route is a Japanese-language phone call to +81-3-5568-0923 — which a hotel concierge or Moshi Moshi can place for you.
Where is Tempura Kondo located?
Tempura Kondo is at 9F Sakaguchi Building, 5-5-13 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo, in the Ginza area of Tokyo, Japan.
How far in advance should I book Tempura Kondo?
3–6 weeks in advance is usually enough for a weekend dinner. Holiday weekends, Saturday lunches, and counter seats with a particular chef should be booked earlier — 2 months is a safer buffer.
Will I receive the booking confirmation in English?
Tempura Kondo typically confirms reservations in Japanese, by phone. If you book through Moshi Moshi, the call is placed in polite Japanese on your behalf and you receive a written confirmation in English with the date, time, party size, address, and any specific instructions from the venue (deposit, cancellation policy, dress code, dietary notes).
